Satellite Site of the Fermain Academy, Crewe – Consultation Report
Following the closure of the three-week statutory consultation process which was conducted in line with the Department for Education (DfE) statutory requirements for a significant change to an academy, we are pleased to report our summary of findings as detailed in the following report which can be read here: Fermain Satellite consultation Report – June 25
Background and Rationale
In recent years, demand for Alternative Provision in South Cheshire, particularly in Crewe, has increased. Although a free school has been approved for the area, the project is currently not being progressed and is facing long delays. In response to local need, the Fermain Academy, with the support of the Youth Engagement Schools (YES) Trust and the Local Authority, proposes opening a satellite site in Crewe.
The Fermain Academy has a strong track record of supporting students who are unable to access mainstream education. The Crewe site will offer the same high standards of personalised, trauma-informed, and inclusive education that have characterised the provision in Macclesfield.
