Today is National School Governors’ Awareness Day and we’re celebrating the fabulous contribution, commitment and work that our local governors and trustees do for our Trust and schools. Our governor stories really shed a spotlight on how rewarding and important this vital volunteer role is for the young people in our schools and their successful futures. Thank you for the invaluable difference you make across our Trust!!

‘My motivation for becoming a Governor is deeply personal. Seeing my daughter thrive made me realise the dedication of the staff and how I now have the chance to contribute to the success and help other students receive the best possible opportunities to succeed. I love contributing with my fellow governors and teachers, the teamwork and shared commitment makes the role very rewarding’ .
Lisa Spence, Governor The Fermain Academy

‘I am passionate about education and lifelong learning, whilst also being community minded and invested in our young people and the society of the future. The future of the nation rests on the well-being and engagement of all our young people so that they can play a purposeful and engaged role in society. I am proud to still play my very small part in this’.
Julia Murray, Chair of Governors, The Axis Academy
