NEWS
It’s been a really busy few months in the Trust with lots of work and developments going on behind the scenes, and we’re delighted to be able to share some great news on some recent personnel moves in key leadership roles.
Following Paul Eager’s move over to The Raise Academy, to take up the position of the founding Headteacher of this brand new school, we have appointed Dan Blundred as the new Headteacher of The Axis Academy. Dan is currently the Deputy Headteacher at The Keystone Academy in Shrewsbury and will take up his new post in September. In the meantime, Claire Gill, who is Deputy Headteacher at The Axis Academy, will take up the role of Acting Headteacher, with support from the Trust central team.
Emma Sandbach has taken on the role of Head of Skills Centre, at The Fermain Academy, due to the ongoing growth of the school. This expansion has also enabled us to create the new role of Executive Headteacher, for which we are currently recruiting!
Finally, Lorna Lockhart who has been with the Trust since 2020 as a Pastoral and Safeguarding Lead at The Axis Academy has now moved into the Trust central team into a newly created role of Trust Project Manager. Lorna will oversee and manage the opening of new free schools and support the onboarding of schools joining our Trust, having worked on the preopening stages of The Axis Academy, The Keystone Academy and The Raise Academy.
These senior level internal appointments demonstrate our ongoing commitment and Trust strategy for ‘Growing our People’. We are proud to say that 100% of the Headteachers in post across our Trust are in their first headship, with several of them being appointed internally from Deputy Headteacher roles.
We will be sharing some further information on these appointments very soon, so watch this space!
